Atticus Fellowes , Intern
Hi, I’m Atticus (he/him). I am currently pursuing my master’s degree in Social Work and completing my internship with Mosaic Behavioral Health. I previously earned a degree in Elementary Education before realizing that my passion and long-term goals were more closely aligned with clinical social work and supporting individuals through life’s challenges.
I believe everyone deserves a space where they feel heard, respected, and understood. I use a holistic, strengths-based, trauma-informed, and client-centered approach that recognizes you as a whole person rather than defining you by a diagnosis, identity, experience, or difficult moment in your life. My goal is to work collaboratively with you to identify your strengths, develop effective coping strategies, and create a path forward that feels meaningful and realistic for you.
I am especially interested in supporting children, teenagers, and adults who are navigating anxiety, depression, grief and loss, family or relationship conflict, major life changes, chronic pain or illness, fatigue, trauma, identity exploration, religious trauma or deconstruction, and challenges related to self-worth and belonging.
I have a particular passion for working with 2SLGBTQIA+ individuals, including transgender, nonbinary, and queer clients, as well as people who have experienced marginalization or feeling “othered.” I also enjoy supporting individuals coping with estrangement, the death or loss of a loved one, chronic health conditions, and the emotional challenges that can accompany caregiving. As someone who understands the impact chronic pain and illness can have on everyday life, this is an area of work that is especially meaningful to me.
My therapeutic approach may incorporate Client-Centered Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, and Trauma-Focused approaches. Treatment is individualized because there is no single approach that works for everyone.
Whether you are exploring your identity, adjusting to a major change, grieving a loss, managing stress, living with a chronic condition, working through difficult relationships, or simply feeling overwhelmed and unsure of what comes next, I would be honored to hear your story and work alongside you.
Outside of my clinical work, I enjoy literature and music and appreciate the ways both can help us understand ourselves and connect with others. Some of my favorite authors include Andrea Gibson, James Baldwin, and Omar El Akkad. My music favorites include Rainbow Kitten Surprise, Bon Iver, Juice WRLD, The Lumineers, Mumford & Sons, and Florence + The Machine.
I welcome people from all backgrounds and experiences and look forward to seeing if we may be a good fit for one another.
